Kremlin: Turkey seen unlikely targeted by secondary sanctions

MOSCOW, Aug 8 (PRIME) -- Turkey will unlikely be targeted by secondary sanctions for energy cooperation with Russia, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

"No, it can't be and must not be a reason for any secondary sanctions,” Peskov said.

Nevertheless, we can imagine that the U.S., the E.U. countries, Brussels will continue the policy of exerting an absolutely unpreceded pressure on any states, which do not want to follow their mainstream."

The Financial Times reported earlier citing an anonymous E.U. official that the union tracks Russian–Turkish cooperation carefully and is concerned about its development.
